The White Card training is a mandatory work health and safety course required prior to working in the construction industry.  This one (1) day face to face course can be completed in Winnellie Darwin.  This means that if you want to get a job in the construction industry, you must do the White Card course, even if you are only visiting Australia on a working holiday visa, you are not allowed to work on a construction site without a White Card.

The Unit of Competency is CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.

About the course

This one (1) day face to face course can be completed at the training facilities in Winnellie.  Once you are deemed competent you will have to apply for a NT Construction White Card at the Territory Business Centre. Go to https://worksafe.nt.gov.au/licensing-and-registration/white-card application fee of $25 is payable at time of lodgement.

Entry Requirements

  • You must bring to the course photographic identification, drivers license is best
  • Minimum age seventeen (17)
  • Basic reading and writing of English
  • Unique Student Identifier (USI)

The assessment is a combination of theory and practical:

  • Verbal test - Use of interpreters is not allowed
  • Written test - English
  • Practical test

Cancellation Policy - you can change course dates up to seven (7) days prior to the selected course. Within seven (7) days of the course you cannot change dates, however you can change people at any time if you cannot attend your best option is to send another person. If a person withdraws from the course within seven (7) days prior or after it has commenced because of unforeseen injury or illness, they can provide a medical certificate to Train Safe NT. They can enrol in an alternate course on another date at no extra cost or 100% refund.
