About the course
This course will prepare you for towing and reversing a trailer in the top end of the Northern Territory. Learn key skills in driving a vehicle with a trailer and navigating outback roads in safety. 90% practical and 10% theory, it is performed in your own work vehicle to ensure best results. What will I learn?
This one (1) day course covers the practical and theory of:
- Toe hitch, electrical system, jockey wheel
- Compliance ratings, load distribution
- Trailer pre - start checks
- Vehicle pre - start checks
- Correct trailer connection and disconnecting procedures
- Reverse a trailer for all situations
- Load and secure loads
- Prevent jack knifing and trailer swaying
- Tyre changing and inspection
- Low risk driving
- Minimising vehicle rollovers
- Employee’s responsibilities under the Workplace Health and Safety Act
