The Toyota Prado spare wheel is locked by a simple Nut lock but there is a trick to opened the lock, you need the keyless device that starts the car. There is a little key hidden in the key less device, yes there is a key in the key less device, this can be very confusing, its better to work out how to use the key first so go and test it before going out bush. You don't want to be working it out when out in the bush.
Changing a flat tyre on a Toyota Prado can be difficult as there are allot of tools needed, the spare wheel cover has to be removed and this requires a few tricks, firstly the back door must be open so the latch can be opened, secondly a 12mm spanner is needed to loosen the bolt. So check you have the 12mm spanner before you go anywhere. Lift the fibreglass cover off and you have the spare wheel.

Thirdly, you can unlock the wheel lock using the Little key hidden in the key less device, yes there is a key in the key less device, this can be very confusing. Remember the new Toyota Prado’s are high tech cars so you will be challenged.

Use the wheel brace to remove nuts and take the spare wheel off the back of the car. Check you have a wheel brace, 12mm spanner and key from key less device before you go anywhere.
